September Monthly Meeting & Special Meeting

Dear BSSA Members

Please find attached the Agenda for our September meeting and again the BSSA's Special Meeting. 

Our September General Meeting, in conjunction with a Special Meeting to consider changes tour our Constitution, (under the Associations Incorporation Act 1985), will occur on Monday, the 13th of September, in the Burnside Community Hall.

Please note the Special meeting, for voting purposes, is for members only. If you're able, please try registering through the Portal section on our website. 

Please find thus attached the Agenda for the September General Meeting and the August Minutes, and again the Agenda and attachments for the 2021 Special Meeting.

The meeting will be available to watch on our website a few days after the event at https://bees.org.au/previous-meeting-recordings.

For the Special Meeting the proposed changes to the Constitution will be individually discussed and voted on.

The main meeting will start at 7.30 PM, on arrival members and guests must register in line with current COVID requirements, a QR code to scan or a sign on list will be available as you enter. Please wear a mask, if you’re able. We will have some for those who do not have their own.

After introductory comments and administration we will pause for the Special Meeting.

Following this we will have a talk from Professor Chris Daniels from the University of South Australia who will speak on ‘The impact of urban infill on biodiversity’.

Strictly beekeeping will be a further discussion on Spring. What to do and look for at this time of the year as bees have emerged and begun swarming.

Please remember to return any library books you may have borrowed.  

Any display items you may have that you can bring, especially different type so boxes, bottom board and hives.

* Further we’re certain all of you will be aware of current COVID restrictions.  Currently the maximum for the hall is 135. Please again remember that currently masks are required to be worn inside, thus please bring a mask if you have one. Masks will be available should you require.

  

Finally, please note the repeated COVID-19 points below;

  • Please remember about COVID-19. (Plan will be available).We have been asked to remember for people to keep their physical distance of 1.5m.
  • The main hall may only have a maximum of (135) people, thus we will be required to restrict the meeting number to that.
  • Please make sure your name is provided on entering – either by scanning the code or writing down your details.
  • Please enter by the front of the building as has been occurring, we will ask members to exit by the side of the building.
  • We have been asked to wipe down tables and the parts of chairs that are held to carry, before and after use – we will ask all members if they can please assist.
  • We will have water available to drink and will investigate further food and drinks, however this may not be supplied for this meeting.
  • Please do not bring cash to pay for memberships/insurance if this can be avoided. Contactless payment is preferred.
  • Please do not attend if you unwell.
