Dear BSSA members, 

I trust you're enjoying Autumn and becoming ready for Winter. 

Please find linked the agenda for our May meeting, and the minutes for our April meeting. 

We will have a presentation from Michael Stedman- PIRSA Project Coordinator, Apiaries.

Michael will further explain bee pests and diseases, what is in SA, and what is mandatory under legislation to report.

Strictly beekeeping will discuss the approaching Winter; when to close hives down, what to watch for during winter, what to do during winter and how, when, to prepare for Spring.  

We will have display items around the hall including: stickies, clean combs, storage methods, wax moth prevention and ways to deal with wax moth. 

Our monthly meetings at the BSSA are held at the Burnside Community Centre, in the Burnside Council offices on the second Monday of every month and start at 7.30pm.

All welcome - both members and non-members. Bring a gold coin for supper if you'd like a tea or coffee afterwards.

Beginner and intermediate classes start at 6.30pm prior to the main meeting. Bookings are essential. See our classes page for more information and for bookings.

The meeting will be available to watch on our website a few days after the event at our previous meeting page.

Please use the buttons above to register for the general meeting. (Even if you are also attending a beginner or intermediate class.) This will help us get everyone into the hall much more efficiently.

Please return any library books you have borrowed.

Current Covid restrictions mean that we can have a maximum of 180 in the hall. Please wear a mask if you wish. Masks will be available should you like one. 

Please do stay safe and enjoy the Autumn weather, look after yourselves and your bees.
