Dear BSSA Members,

This email is an invitation to BSSA members and their families to attend the 2022 BSSA Christmas BBQ.

Cost: $10 per person (aged 12 years and older)

The BSSA will supply barbequed chops, sausages, burgers and vegetarian patties. Chicken will also be available for those that do not like red meat. Attendees are requested to bring a salad or dessert to share.

BYO drinks. Attendees may bring and consume their own alcoholic beverages. It is a condition of the liquor license that alcoholic beverages may only be consumed within the Ashton Oval clubrooms and veranda.

To attend: Please pre-purchase tickets as needed on the BSSA website. Members who do not use the BSSA website should contact Trisha Blanks before Friday 25-Nov to reserve and pay for a ticket.

Tickets must be purchased before Friday 25-Nov. Tickets will NOT be available for sale on the day of the event.

12pm: BBQ Lunch

1pm : Talk by Sophie Thompson

1:30pm : Mead judging (*)

2pm : Honey judging (*)

(*) These competitions are not intended to be serious. Prizes are $100/$50/$25 for first/second/third + bragging rights for the best honey and mead. Bob Beer and Len Turner will be the honey judges. Matt Wenk of Smidge wines will be a mead judge. Rules: (a) honey & mead must be your own; (b) bring honey or mead in your own clear glass container
